Speachless..........

.............................................................................................................................................................................,

ok,

wow,... what can I say,...you wake up on a sunday morning, remembering you had to set the clock back for one hour since your part of the world is going back to winter time,... that's one hour extra sleep,... but since you are already up,... you go for a nice cup of tea,... cranck up the pc,...go for a look on your favorite site, "MRH",... and then you get to see the latest issue,....some clicks later, your jaw drops and you go speachless....I even got to see my friend Kevin and his WN switching layout,... for real (well kinda)....

There is only so few sundays in a lifetime waking up like this.

First in class, second to none !!!!!!!!!

Thanks again "MRH" crew, if there was an Oscar to be handed out for magazines, well...the others would go home empty handed (....whispering,: "for decades to come")

Links point to Sep-Oct

Both the links above, and the stuff on the MRH homepage.  Trying to guess the right path didn't work.

Make sure you clear your browser cache

Make sure you clear your browser cache. You can google how to clear your browser cache or you can click reload on the page and hold down the shift or ctrl key to tell the browser you want to force a refresh (tell the browser you know better since the page expire logic in browsers is not flawless).

I guess we did not win the prize for finding the right link this time did we Dave.   MRH seems to do this on each release lately. Great fun trying to sort it out, but it takes away from layout work..  .

It would seem to be more than that.  Tried clearing cache, rebooting PC, clearing cache again. IE 8 can not download the first 4 extra. the remaining 2 (Weathering)  no issue.

The first link has got the wrong article name in it,   http://00200530.pdl.pscdn.net/002/00530/MRH10/DaveCluneInterview_DVD.zip

The second third and forth find nothing to display.

Keep in mind there's hundreds of links in each issue

There's hundreds if links in each issue and the way we test an issue is we have staff sit around for hours clicking on every link they can. If you tried to click on every possible thing in each issue that has links, do you know how long that will take you? Hours, that how long!

We always miss a few there's so many of them. That's why we prefer to release a little early before the official release day so you "regulars" can find what we missed before we send out the email blast to the whole world.

So thanks for the notice that we've got some problems. We'll get 'em fixed today before we send out the official email blast for tomorrow's official release of the issue.

I hope I do not come across as blasting MRH. All I am doing is trying to document my atttemps in case any one else has a similar issue with IE8 and the  Extras.

Now I cleared ALL the IE8  browsing temp files, passwords, hist, cache.  Reloaded and got the DVD switching video. still unable to retrive the 2 Klettke files and the HD switching video.

http://00200530.pdl.pscdn.net/002/00530/MRH10/SwitchingTheDaylight-DVD.zip

Funny thing is that now both  this link above  and the identical  one in my previous post  (that would not function  before )  now dowload the file.  I tried the MRH mag online version and then tried my  downloaded MRH mag copy.  The downloaded mag  copy got me  the DVD switching video and not the missing other three.

One must love this type of fun; engineers nightmare, someone to find a new way to brake something.

Bonus Extra links fixed

OK. THe bonus extra links should be fixed now. If you continue to get bad links, refresh your browser's cache.

I apologize for this screw up. My only excuse is working 14-16 hour days for the last 3 weeks getting the magazine out and I just got really fuzzy headed toward the end of the process.

btw. One of the reasons we try to 'ship' the magazine prior to it's official release date (which is Mon, Nov 1st for issue 10) is so our loyal readers can find the stupid stuff we let slip through *before* we send out notifications to over 14,000 subscribers...

Thanks for caring enough to report problems.

The links on the Legacy Page

Looks like the links on the Legacy Download Page are pointing to the Sept-Oct issue:

http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/mrh-2010-NovDec/legacy_download

Regular downloader worked fine though. Got my copy to read tomorrow at work copied over to the iPad

Read the main Articles and thought The interviews were

Top of the line. Kevinklettke Has one nice Harbor and the reuse of models from other layouts is impressive as most Used Structures seem to loose something once removed from their original scenes But Kevin has done a superb job of recycling his Buildings and RR structures as well as building the Bate and boat house and everything in a 12 ft X 8 ft "L" shape. I really Liked the quality of construction and even though the RR isn't finished he has a nice RR in the works. Great Video also everybody should watch this one.

Not a problem

I often times download the Mag directly into Goodreader on the iPad so I usually hit the Legacy page to download.
