Choppy Video for anyone else?

The video played choppy for me in the embedded PDF (It was fine on YouTube).

I don't know if anyone else experienced it.

For the record, here are my machine particulars in case they are needed.

Mac OSX 10.6.8, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.5

Scenery

How refreshing to see a layout that has scenery foliage with colors besides the same dark, med and light green!

Very nice layout. Congrats on the MRH coverage.

LAST PAGE PICTURES

The pictures of the overall layout on the last page of the article were great.  You get a total fell to how big it really is and how it all ties together.  You also see in this case that he is 99% complete with scenery.  This is a great looking and appears by video running layout.  I have operated on layout with hot box detector it is fun.  You come up on it and you start thinking am I going to make it by or not.  You don't  and then you have to think where do I set out the car.

Video played fine for me.

Good enough

This was a very refreshing article to read.   Al's main focus, operation, was complemented by a layout that was finished in the sense that it was a complete background for his operations.  Detail that we've come to expect to see on a featured-layout article was not there, but was not really noticed except when the article pointed it out.

This is an excellent example of the "good enough" philosophy in modeling.

Thanks, MRH; and thanks, Al, for sharing.

Fun visit

I thoroughly enjoyed this layout visit.  I would love to have the space for just one level of something similar!

Browser?

I'm sure I've seen something that recommends the non-embedded version for Macs.

What browser are you using? I tried to download the HD version from the "subscriber bonus" page (with OSX 10.6.8, Firefox 3.6.19) and the zip file wouldn't open. Tried again using Safari (5.0.5), and it played fine in QuickTime 10.0.

Some subscriber downloads from the MR site with the .ashx file type (e.g. track plans) don't open in Firefox  but do in Safari and Opera, so maybe worth trying a different browser?

Great video, great layout.

Thanks Al

This is one of the best articles I have read in MRH.

The scenes are so well done, shows that N scalers can do anything that HO scalers can.
