Excellent article!

I really enjoyed this two-part article on creating a realistic-looking water scene, and plan to implement one on my layout when time comes to build.

One request, if possible: is there any way to make the photos in the article (or in any of the great articles in MRH) 'clickable', meaning if you click on it a larger, more clearer detailed photo would open up? I think it would definitely be helpful with those of us with 'older' eyesight or smaller monitors!

Al, zoom the photos in the embedded edition

Al, if you download the embedded edition, you can zoom the photos to 200% and they generally will stay sharp. You can't do that on a print magazine.

For the record, since the July issue, the embedded edition also works on Macs, Linux, and iPads. The video and click-n-spins won't play inside the doc, but will gracefully degrade to function like the standard edition with links you can click to make them work. That way you get the enhanced resolution of the images.

A perfect article

A perfect article: scale-free, era-free, hi-tech-free, power-tool-free, small space needed, products mentioned by name, how-to pictures, applicable on all layouts.

Thanks guys!

Part three of this series is coming in December.

After that I'll be building a helix, benchwork, laying track and working on getting the golden spike driven. I'm using some techniques that I don't think I've heard of before for some of the benchwork construction.

Cheers,

Charlie
