I have always liked your signs

Just one question though, did you use glossy or mat finish photo paper?

Great Inspriation

I have to honestly say that as soon as I read this article, I started working on signs for my layout!  Thanks for the inspiration!

For my signs I decided to use glossy photo paper.  I really like the results but I'm sure the matte paper would work just as well.

Paper type

I have a Canon pixma 5200 and used Canon Photo Paper Pro with it which is moderately glossy (but not super-duper glossy). You could use matte paper but I like the smooth finish from the gloss paper sprayed with the urethane to seal it.

One thing I forgot to mention, use color fast inks if there is sunlight or unshielded fluorescent tubes. Otherwise the ultra-violet is likely to eventually fade the colors.

It seems to me that there is a clear coat that filters out UV.

I was at a Micheals in their frame dept looking for a frame for a photo enlargement.  I ended up getting glass that gave UV protection to the photo.  I think the guy in the frame shop showed me a clear spray coat that was designed to use on oil paintings to protect against UV.  I'm wondering if using that stuff instead of urethane to seal it would be a good choice?
