Holly Cow Charlie!!

I swear I heard Bullfrogs jump into the water when I "turned" the page and saw the article with the picture above.  That came out so nice.

University of Model Railroaders

I could not agree more with the previous poster. Yet another informative and entertaining presentation by Charlie. Charlie and Joe are such great teachers they should get together and do a University of Model Railroaders commercial, similar to those University of Farmers commercials that Farmers Insurance runs these days. "We are modelers, bah bah bah bah bum bum bum." Bear Creek

Absolutely beautiful modeling Charlie! When I need to double check to see if I am looking at an actual or modeled scene, that sorta says it all.

Loved the bonus video...but...

Terrific finish to a fine set of articles.  The double header crossing the creek was a nice way to really showcase the scenery as a railfan might see it.

But...MRH has been monthly for a year now.  Can you PLEASE get rid of the "screaming man" graphic at the end of the videos?  I know it may not bother some folks, but it REALLY irks me.  I think it's a distraction away from the video, practically ruining all the hard work and thoughtful effort that went into making the video.

I had a bowl of oatmeal recently that was wonderful.  Walnuts, cranberries, bananas, cream & brown sugar...mmm.  But the last bite killed the experience when the walnut had an off taste...I think it had gone rancid.  That's how this graphic at the end of the video makes me feel.

So please lose this screaming guy and replace him with something that complements the subject matter, adds value to the video, or at least doesn't distract away from the content.  A tasteful "MRH - Having Fun With Trains" text graphic with the website would suffice.

Thanks,

Galen

New graphic

We'll have a new trailing graphic starting next year!  And no, we're NOT planning on going weekly ...  We're nuts, but we're not THAT nuts!

I think....

...Bear Creek needs a sign.

Perhaps like this one:

imag0787.jpg

I saw it while driving down Kingston-Jordon road just south and east of Stayton the other day. So I stopped and grabbed a shot of it. ...and very nearly got my truck stuck in the mud getting out!

And yeah, I seem to remember that horseshoes aren't supposed to be hung open side down, but there it is.

Upper Bear Creek

As the others have stated Charlie, great finish!

I enjoyed the photo journal tutorial very much. Can't wait for your next project.

Keep up the good work, and Happy New Year!
