Saving off just certain articles to PDF

I tried the way you showed in the article. It didn't work. It worked as described after I removed the password. I used PDFill Tools for removing the password: http://www.pdfill.com/pdf_tools_free.html

It is free.

Bounas Stuff Step back To 20th Century

Joe since you are letting us down load files to watch I will be happy to post on you tube. Otherwise it does not work for me and in today's world will not work for most. Download file, unzip, then play. I did this in the 90s. C on man.

Huh? Art, not sure what your point is? For all bonus videos with very rare exceptions, you can watch HD versions on YouTube, or you can watch the video content inside the embedded edition. As for the downloads being 1990s technology - sure, but you clearly don't have the full picture. I get emails regularly from folks who tell me they live in the backwoods, like living in the backwoods, but that there's not much for good internet service where they live - so downloading a video overnight so they can watch it through in one shot on their local computer is greatly appreciated. You need the whole picture - we aim to serve everyone's needs and if the download thing is not your bag, why should you begrudge those who do prefer it? Nobody's forcing you to download the bonus videos are they? It's a big world out there and we need to serve all kinds, not just Art Houston and what he likes.

I am disappointed!

I came to this blog looking for some comments on the new narrow gauge columnist, Larry Smith. What do I find? Carping about videos and PDFs! The narrow gauge folks have clamored for more representation. Now, Joe has answered! Are you all happy? If not, why not? Since I model narrow gauge in the garden, I would love to see larger stuff discussed. We'll see where the column goes! Come on narrow gauge folks, comment!

Thank you Joe...........

It's not only for those of us who live in the backwoods, but who live in the backwoods AND have OLDER pc's that are not quite a fast as the "newfangled" stuff!

Well ...

... this was the "Staff Notes" (article) and not the "Light and Narrow" column ....

Removing the sub-title in the forum thread topic line would probably make it less confusing.

Copying Images and Text From PDF Files

A handy tool that comes along with Adobe PDF Reader or Pro versions is the Snapshot tool. The snapshot tool allows you to select a specific area of a pdf document and copy it to the clipboard. You then have the ability to print the selection to a printer or pdf file. You can paste the selection into other documents like email, word documents, spreadsheets etc. I find the feature very helpful for capturing and collecting information from pdf files.
