Excellent Information

The only thing is I wish it had more photo of the finish product. That Pan Am engine looks awesome, they should've published more photos of it to show off the final product.

Stripping paint

Once upon a time, the solvent du jour for stripping paint from a model was automotive brake fluid.  I haven't seen this mentioned in awhile.  Has it fallen out of favor?  If so, why?

Plastic horror stories

I've heard a number of horror stories about brake fluid attacking plastic, making it brittle and more susceptible to breakage. These stories have become common enough that brake fluid has fallen out of favor.

I have had some parts of an Atlas C420 shell melt and a Kato RS1 be brittle after striping paint with DOT3 brake fluid.
