Very realistic

Great technique - very realistic results, but also sounds quite doable.

Seems like this technique might be adapted to make some pretty realistic tree trunks and branches too.

I agree. I could not be more happy with Harold's method. My one regret is he’s not here for me to compliment him on a great technique.

Been wanting to give this method a try, so as part of preparing for the article, I made some logs with this method. Wow, did they turn out nice!

It is sad he isn't here

It is sad he isn't here still.  I model the Cass WV, Mower Lumber co. along with my C&O so i will have a lot of chances to try this out,  But i will have to use smaller diameter it will be interesting to see if it works as well on smaller diameter trees.
