RE Shoving moves

- Check the daily operations of the Meeker Southern in Oregon. 7 miles end-to-end, 7 turnouts (all trailing), and all-shove from the BNSF interchange at Puyallup to the end-of-track at the McMillian "Park of Industry".

- Check the UP local operations on the La Brea switching lead, serving Pacific Plastics.
(MU'd gensets shoving rakes of covered hoppers and tanks the entire length of the La Brea lead...)

I love the idea of using a timer for things like a soldering iron.  I've gone off and left a soldering iron plugged in before, so I know how easy it is to do.  This is a great idea, and one I'll likely use.  Thanks!

Can someone explain what tasks are being performed?  What is the significance of the sign where the loco stops to let off the crewman?  What's in the silver box that the crewman opens?  It looks like easy operation items to incorporate on our layouts.

I don't understand the relevance of the video to the question that references it.  The question is about pushing a train of cars and the video shows someone manually changing a signal for a pair of locomotives running lite.

I am puzzled myself. The YouTube link is supposed to go to a 3-4 minute segment on the same railroad that does indeed show a shoving move.
