That's an awesome tip using magnets for track side signs. Wonder if it will work for working signals? Just have extra wire  to prevent breakage?

That is a cheap and effective way to anchor a lot of things that would be vulnerable.

Ditto - it's neat to 'participate' in a magazine's publication... and to see that publication 'evolve' as readers contribute feedback to each article!

Great Tip

Not only for railroad crossing signs! It would also work for telegraph poles, street lighting, and the stupid billboard that I'm always knocking over!
